Popham Beach: A Love Story.

Once upon a time a small family took a beach day. The young Abe, having never been to the beach, thought this was fantastic. He was sure the stuff on the ground was brown sugar.

Until he tasted it. Nope, not brown sugar. He was scolded by his mother. Then he tried again and again. Nope. Definitely not brown sugar. And being scolded by your mother is no fun either.

The small family had a great set up. A tent for shade and shelter with snacks, drinks and toys.

Mom and Dad took turns taking baby to the water and helping him splash around.

Splashing in the large tidal pools proved to be great fun. Ocean water is mighty tasty.

After all that playing the family worked up quite an appetite. Mom and Dad had tomato and mozzarella sandwiches and little Abe had spinach and banana. But oh...wait a minute...Momma is a numbskull and forgot to bring a spoon! A pretzel rod will do just fine.

What a mess!!

Mom thought it would be a good idea for baby to wear sunglasses. Baby had other ideas for the sunglasses.

Boy is the beach a lot of fun!

Covered in sand and exhausted, the day was fantastic.

  1. Sand, brown sugar... Hah! I love it. My mom shared your blog with me -- great photos of your baby boy! Your creative knack for photography inspires me.
